INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

India’s 77^th Independence Day was observed with great fervor and patriotism. The whole school wore a festive look as teachers and students were clad in at least one of the tricolors to show their solidarity. The program began with a prayer song by the school choir. The school Head Girl Maria V Rajesh welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest for the day was Cdr. Jose Verghese, former Administrator of The Delta Study. Principal Mrs. Anitha Kuriappan and School Administrator Cdre. Anand Balakrishnan presided over the function. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest unfurled the tricolor flag and National Anthem echoed in the entire campus. Addressing the school, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of celebrating the spirit of      freedom. Zaya Suraj of class II. Science spoke on the significance of Independence Day. This was followed by various captivating cultural competitions. The students of classes I-V showcased patriotic costume fancy dress while the students of class VI-VIII mesmerized the audience with their spectacular patriotic dance. The main highlight of the event was the patriotic song competition among the four houses Ramanuja, Rumi, Copernicus and Schweitzer. The program culminated with the vote of thanks by Principal Mrs. Anitha Kuriappan appreciating the efforts of the Physical Education Department, teachers and students. It was a day filled with colorful splendor and spirit of patriotism.
